By train
Reaching the Relais Luce Florence from the Santa Maria Novella Train Station takes about 2-3 minutes. Once you arrive, with your back to the platforms, turn left. Exit the Santa Maria Novella station and cross the street, where you will find McDonald’s on the corner. Keeping the corner of McDonald’s on your left, go straight on Largo Fratelli Alinari. Once you have passed the crossoroads in which on the left there is Via Fiume, go straight on Via Nazionale until you reach number 8. You will find the Relais on the right, on the opposite side of the Mercure Hotel and next to the Malatesta Restaurant.

FromFlorence “Amerigo Vespucci” airportyou can reach the Relais Luce Florence by public transport (tram), by Volainbus shuttle or by taxi.
Tram Line T2: the Tramvia, recently built, directly connects the Amerigo Vespucci Airport (Peretola) to Piazza dell’Unità Italiana which is only 200 m from the Relais Luce Florence (near the Santa Maria Novella station), only 22 minutes to get downtown from the airport. The ticket price is € 1.50.
Volainbus: It is a fast connection shuttle that takes about 25 minutes to go from the airport (departures area) and the center of Florence (the Santa Maria Novella train station). Does not make intermediate stops.
One-way ticket: € 6.00 – Valid for one trip. It can also be purchased on board without price increases.
Return ticket: € 10.00 – Valid for two trips (to and from the airport).
Taxi: Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport is only 7 km from the city center and a taxi service is always available. Taxis are stationed outside the terminal, otherwise to book a taxi call +39 055 4390 or +39 055 4242.
The taxi fare to and from the airport is € 22 with baggage surcharges: * € 1 / baggage for a maximum of 7 pieces, surcharge on holidays: * € 2, night surcharge (22:00 – 06:00): * € 3.30
By car
If you have a sat nav, follow the directions given after inserting our address: Via Nazionale 8, 50123 (CAP) Firenze (CITTÀ).
Otherwise follow these directions:
Arriving to Florence from the A1 highway, come off at the first exit for Florence following the signs indicating Centro/Stazione.
If you are arriving from north, pass the Firenze Nord and Firenze Scandicci exits and come off at the Firenze Impruneta exit. Then follow the signs to Firenze, pass the beautiful Certosa del Galluzzo and the town with the same name.
Right after the sign indicating the entrance into Florence, at the traffic light at Due Strade, turn right into via Del Gelsomino (do not go straight, you will receive a ticket passing under the camera), then turn left and go straight on the tree-lined avenue Poggio Imperiale until you reach Porta Romana. Porta Romana square is easily recognisable because of the ancient doors of the city and the large roundabout with a statue in the centre. Take the fifth exit at the roundabout and go straight on the tree-lined viale Francesco Petrarca (1 km), which becomes viale Vasco Pratolini (150 mt), viale Aleardo Aleardi (600 mt) and viale Raffaello Sanzio (300 mt). Enter Pier Vettori square and drive all along, turn left, then right and go straight on via del Ponte Sospeso, take the third exit at the roundabout, cross the Victoria Bridge and go straight for about 2 km. Turn twice, into viale Spartaco Lavagnini and then into viale Santa Caterina d’Alessandria, which becomes via Nazionale. Go straight on for about 850 mt. You will find the Relais on the left, on the opposite side of the Mercure Hotel and next to the Malatesta Restaurant.
